The Puyallup Tribal Council is partnering with Chief Leschi Schools to hold a social distance parade on Saturday, May 23.
Staging for the parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Chief Leschi Schools, 5625 52nd St. E., Puyallup, where members of the class of 2020 will be lined up. Families and community members are invited to drive through the parking lot beginning at 11 a.m. and celebrate the students’ accomplishments.
The tribe’s Daffodil princess, powwow royalty and Tribal Council candidates are also invited to participate in the lineup at the school.
Once the procession is finished at the school, at about noon, Chief Leschi seniors will lead a parade through the reservation community. Families and community members are invited to wave signs and cheer for the seniors as they cruise along the parade route. This year’s Daffodil princesses from around the region are also invited to participate in the reservation parade.
Please note: Everyone is reminded to maintain a safe 6-foot distance from others during the event to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please do not toss candy, or have physical contact with the participants. This is a social distance event.
