One Dies in House Fire on East Columbia Avenue

TACOMA—Puyallup Nation Police confirmed a 2-year-old child has died in a house fire on Puyallup Tribe trust property.

The fire began at 1:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of East Columbia Avenue. Puyallup Nation Police and Tacoma Fire Department responded immediately. Firefighters searched the house for possible victims and found the child before extinguishing the fire.

Puyallup Nation and Tacoma Police detectives are on the scene along with Tacoma Fire Department. The FBI has been contacted per standard protocol when a fatality occurs on Trust Property. More details will be released when available.
