In testimony this morning to the U.S. House Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment, Chairman Bill Sterud expressed support for a $2.5 billion investment in wastewater infrastructure assistance for Native American communities.
“Foundational to our Tribe are our natural resources, the fish, wildlife and fauna, water, land and air in our territory. We depend on these resources for our economic, cultural, and spiritual health and well-being,” Sterud said in written testimony that paralleled his spoken comments.
The comments came as part of a hearing titled “Building Back Better: The Urgent Need for Investment in America’s Wastewater Infrastructure.” Read the testimony and more about the hearing through this link: https://transportation.house.gov/committee-activity/hearings/building-back-better-the-urgent-need-for-investment-in-americas-wastewater-infrastructure
