Celebration, gratitude and community highlighted the day at the Browns Point Aug. 28.
Families and individuals joined PTHA at the ocean-view location overlooking Commencement Bay to celebrate the progress made by members on their personal journeys recovering from addiction.
The event began with a catered lunch provided by Tin Hut BBQ, followed by prize giveaways, guest speakers and recognition of the incredible progress made by those on their journeys.
Puyallup Tribal Councilwoman Annette Bryan was also in attendance and spoke of her personal experiences with addiction and her own journey of recovery.
Bryan and others reminded the audience of the struggles people experience on their journeys, but also of the importance of community, persistence, support and taking time to celebrate the wins and milestones along the way.
