Switching things up for the month of May from the usual Elders Luncheon, a breakfast buffet was held for Puyallup Tribal Elders on May 23 at the House of Respect.
Elders enjoyed a massive feast provided by House of Respect staff members and were able to get their caffeine fix as JJ’s Java was in the parking lot providing beverages.
Tribal Elder Peggy McCloud delivered a blessing before the meal.
May’s Honored Elders were Lois Sapuay and Joni Paul. They were blanketed by Councilwoman Monica Miller and Vice Chairwoman Sylvia Miller. Elders Wellness Center Executive Director Vernetta Miller presented Sapuay and Paul with cedar hats, as well.
Chairman Bill Sterud and Councilwoman Monica Miller distributed cash prizes during the monthly raffle to close things out.
