Tribal employees gathered to celebrate the retirement of Culture Coordinator Victoria Horrell who was joined by family, colleagues and friends to celebrate the occasion Sept. 1.
Guests told stories and shared their thoughts about their time with Horrell, speaking highly of her compassion, kindness and dedication.
Culture Director Angie Totus had nothing but praise for her longtime employee, saying she would miss her dearly, but was happy Horrell could now enjoy some much-deserved time with her family.
“Of course, since tomorrow is your last day, if you do change your mind and decide to stay, I won’t say no,” Totus said.
Horrell received a blanket from Heritage Division Manager Connie McCloud.
Horrell said she plans to spend more time with her family, and while she may no longer work for the Tribe, she still plans to remain active in the community and attend Tribal events.
