Gratitude filled the House of Respect for the November Elders Luncheon on Nov. 21 as Puyallup Tribal Elders were treated to roasted turkey with gravy, honey glazed baked ham and baked salmon.
Chief Leschi Schools students shared a song and dance while Elders enjoyed their meals.
November’s Honored Elder was Nancy Shippentower. She was blanketed by Councilwoman Anna Bean and Elders Wellness Center Executive Director Vernetta Miller.
Chairman Bill Sterud, Vice Chairwoman Sylvia Miller, Councilman Fred Dillon and Councilwoman Bean wrapped up the luncheon with a raffle, giving out cash prizes to lucky Elders in attendance. Each Elder was also provided a pumpkin pie to take home with them as they left the building.
